You may wish to have your daughter tested to determine if a learning disability such as dyslexia could be the underlying cause of underachievement and a negative attitude. To be asked to leave a school and then to go from a parish school to a public school are going to have an emotional impact on parent and child. How frustrated you and your daughter must feel. The Catholic schools here push very hard which is not good for her, yet she bucks me at every turn. I tried to enroll her in public school and after 6 days, she came home talking of evil spirit mask, kids who cuss and her classmate forming a vampire club, in 1st grade. She gives me negative attitude at every turn, every subject, no matter how much praise I try to give her. I have attempted to teach her at home for the last four months.
